About Sensei

Anne Kadar Duzan (Sensei Anne Kadar) started training in martial arts in February 1986.  She currently holds the rank of Yondan, 4^th degree black belt.   In addition to instructing many many students over the last 14 years or so, Ms. Kadar has taught several women’s self defense courses, and attended seminars on knife defense and other subjects.  Ms. Kadar has a B.A. degree in botany from Rutgers University.  Her other interests include family time, singing with her husband in the Abington Choral Club, weightlifting, and especially cooking.  Ms. Kadar's brother and father also train and are both 5^th dans.   

Ms. Kadar’s Sensei is Mr. Doug King, 6^th dan, Andover NJ, student of Mr. Bill Shank, 8^th dan, Carlisle PA.  Mr. Shank is a student of Mr. Georg Iberl, 9^th dan, Dillsburg PA and former student of Mr. Harry Acklin, 7^th dan, OH (deceased).  Mr. Iberl is the student of Sensei Angi Uezu, son-in-law of the founder of Isshinryu Karate, Master Tatsuo Shimabuku.
